Kelly Knowles

Educator
Brief info

Working with HAWKs has allowed her to continue the work she loves: inspiring an appreciation for the natural world around us in the young stewards of our planet.

While Kelly (she/her) was earning her degree in Environmental Biology at Cal Poly Pomona, she worked at BioTrek, an ethnobotanical education center that focused on educating people of all ages about native Californian plants and how they are important in the lives of the Tongva people that are indigenous to the Southern California Region.

Kelly believes being in nature is truly the best place to build a life-long understanding and appreciation for its importance in our lives.

In her free time, Kelly loves camping and hiking around SoCal, reading fantasy adventure novels and educational books, drinking tea, learning new things, and playing with her pet bunnies. She also studies herbalism and runs her own small tea and herbal wellness business.

Kelly is so excited to have the opportunity to not only share her knowledge and love for nature with the HAWKs students but also learn and grow with them!
