Brief info

Jordan (He/Him) graduated from USC in 2023 with a BS in Environmental Studies. He grew up on a small farm in Vermont and has been dedicated to protecting native ecosystems ever since he first read "The Lorax" way back in kindergarten!

Since graduating, he has worked on several interesting ecological preservation teams including a scuba diving research team that is currently rehabilitating California's kelp forest ecosystems. Jordan loves all ecosystems but has a special passion for coastal environments and will share all his favorite marine organisms during the beach days! Many of Jordan's friends refer to him as "amphibious" because he likes to spend half his time in the water and half on land. When he's not leading exciting educational adventures around the local Santa Monica and San Gabriel Mountains, Jordan can likely be found investigating tide pools, surfing, or scuba diving somewhere along the Southern California coastline with a big smile on his face!

Jordan's favorite flower is the California Poppy because it often exhibits nyctinasty which means it likes to close up its petals and sleep at night just like he does! He also loves them because they are super easy to spot on trails and they're almost as bright as the HAWKs logo! Jordan is super stoked to be hiking these local mountain trails with new explorers and loves explaining the intricate relationships between the diverse array of organisms native to Southern California.
